Jeddah Islamic
Seaport |
|
| |
|
|
| |
This oldest and largest seaport on the
Red Sea, receives travelers coming by
ship. It was established about 1300
years ago. Its importance lies in the
fact that, for Muslim pilgrims, it is
the gate to the two holy mosques in
Makkah and Medinah, and in that it
yearly receives thousands of ships
coming from all over the world, and
sends some Saudi products to different
countries. The seaport has been
expanded, modernized and equipped to
deal with gigantic ships.

Shopping in
Jeddah |

The location of Jeddah along with its
seaport and airport and the endless flow
of people coming for Omrah, Hajj and
business made the city a great busy
commercial center. Jeddah has a
prosperous economy and is a passage
through which huge quantities of imports
and imports move. In the early years
of the 21st century, Jeddah abounds with
hundreds of modern shopping and business
centers and malls. The old souks, like
Qabel, Al-Khaskiyyah, Al-Nada and
Al-Alawi are in the city center
(al-Balad) adjacent to some of the
newest and finest shopping centers.
Other new and modern ones are Al-Hijaz,
Hiraa', Al-Mahmal, Al-Basateen,
Al-Corniche and Al-Jamjoom, and the
newest Sairafi Mall and Jeddah Mall. We
don't exaggerate if we say that shopping
in these places is a pleasure.
